Fall Cardigan Roundup

Fall is almost here. It certainly doesn’t feel like it, but before we know it it will be time to bundle up. The only “back to school” shopping I did was at Walmart and Amazon for a few cozy things. Simple and affordable. I am ready for cooler temps for many reasons, but mostly to finally get to wear these cardigans!

DIY Dramatic Play

Hey y’all! It’s been a LONG time, but I’m back! Life has definitely changed since last time I blogged. Mike and I now have a precious 13 month old girl. I was nervous to see how having a baby would change my career. Part of me feared that being a new mom would negatively affect my teaching, but i’m happy to say that having Claire has made me a MUCH better teacher. Definitely far from perfect, but better.

Just as I strive to be present and intentional when I am with my daughter, I now really focus on being the same with my students. I always really cared about my kiddos, but having one of my own makes me think of all their parents and how they want their child to be treated. One day Claire will have teachers, and I certainly want the best for her. I strive to be the best I can be for my students as well. Of course I still have MANY teacher (and mom) fails along the way! I am horrible with puppets (thankfully my students think it’s pretty comedic), forget deadlines, have horrible grammar (good thing I teach pre-k), lose my train of thought in the middle of teaching and the list goes on!

Bridals at the Dallas Arboretum

Photographer: Krysten Alise Photography

I am so excited to share my bridal portraits with y’all. Our wedding was on the beach in Port Aransas, but I wanted some bridals that had a more romantic feel. The Dallas Arboretum is the perfect setting. I love seeing all of the gorgeous flowers, trees and  water fountains. But the best part of the experience was seeing other brides taking their photos as well. It is so fun to share the moment with other brides. Even if we don’t talk, that smile and thumbs up across the field shows the comradery brides have amongst each other.  Continue reading “Bridals at the Dallas Arboretum”

Dark Jeggings

PHOTOGRAPHY: Beckley & Co.

As the summer is nearing an end, I am beginning to think more about putting together outfits that can be transitioned into fall. These jeggings are perfect for fall and will also be great with boots in the winter. I look forward to seeing how far these pants will take me! I’m also loving how these jeggings look paired with my Indigo Rd. Sandals.

Engagement Photos

PHOTOGRAPHY: Krysten Robertson

Earlier this week, my fiancé and I traveled to the beach in Texas to take our second round of engagement photos. This has me reminiscing on our last engagement shoot that was set at the Dallas Arboretum. I just loved how the photos turned out. I wanted to share a couple of the pictures because the dress I wore is still available online, but it is selling out fast! Continue reading “Engagement Photos”

IKEA RASKOG Utility Cart. Part 1

If you have ever been into IKEA, chances are you have seen the RÅSKOG Utility Cart. If you have seen the RÅSKOG Utility Cart, chances are you had to have it. I sure did.  I mean, this cart is amazing. I have seen it in many friends homes and finally decided to get one two for my home. Not only is this cart functional in a variety of ways, but it is also a great piece of home decor.

Raskog 1

I decided to find 10 functional ways that you can use the RÅSKOG Utility Cart in your home. For todays post, I will share my first 5 uses. Therefore I formally name this post IKEA RÅSKOG Utility Cart. Part 1.

1. Library Cart

This cart has a great amount of room. It is a great space to hold your books. You could store any kind of book; children’s books, chapter books, cook books, albums, and the list goes on. I would have loved to have this cart when I was still a student. It would’ve been a fantastic storage space for all of my text books!

This thing held almost half of the books on my book shelf!

2. Garden Cart

I am very new to this gardening adventure, hence my very little amount of gardening tools. I’ll let the pictures do the talking…

3. Jewelry Cart

Raskog Jewelry 2

I feel that it is always a challenge to find that right place to store my accessories. As I’ve said many times, this cart has a ton of space. Just put all of your jewelry in it. I mixed up adding jewelry cases and loose jewelry around the cart. Not only is it functional, but it sure is bright and happy!

Speaking of accessories…

4. Purse Cart

Raskog Purse 3

Throw all of your purses and bags in this thing, and call it a day! I stored some of my bigger bags on top. The middle and lower section held 10 little bags all together (and as you an see, there is more space).

You can even hang totes on the side.

Last on the list for today, and my FAVORITE is…

5. Craft Cart

Raskog Craft Cart

I am an avid crafter. This cart holds a TON of my supplies. It even allows me to roll my supplies to any room that I want to work in. Another plus, is that the sides are magnetic, so you can use those neat magnetized storage containers to maximize the space.

So there you have it.

My first 5 ways to use the RÅSKOG Utility Cart in your home.

You can find it here.

This cart also comes in black and cream.

The First Hurrah!

Well, here we go, the first hurrah!  After much thought and consideration, I have officially decided to jump into the blogging world. This is something I have wanted to do for a VERY long time. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to dress up and have fun. This is MY creative outlet for MY style. I do not use the word fashion, as this blog will cover more than that. I will share not only what I wear, but also any other random tips or tricks that I might have up my sleeve.

To begin this blogging experience, I will share some past photos of myself doing something that I do often. Taking selfies in the mirror. I like to document what I wear. For a long time, I was embarrassed by this. Why should I be embarrassed? Us women (and everyone for that matter) should not feel shame in liking what we wear or loving what we see in the mirror.

A little exciting tidbit for you: My full length mirror is placed right infront of the toilet. Ah, that was not planned, but until it is moved please enjoy the view of the baño in all of my mirror photos taken at home!
