Happy October, friends! Who else is in disbelief that it’s already October?! I am really looking forward to this month. Our old home was not the best Trick or Treating spot (all the kids went to bigger neighborhoods), but supposedly our new home has lots of kiddos out on Halloween night. I am looking forward to dressing up and giving out candy this year (#adulting). I am still debating how to decorate the house. Spooky or cute. What do you think? I also think it’s fun that Friday the 13th will be this month. There will also be a ton of fun stuff happening at work. Carving pumpkins, creating a pumpkin patch in the classroom, fall fest, and more. Continue reading “Bow Mules”

Happy Monday! I’m not sure if “happy” is the word most would use, but I’m trying to be positive! I cannot believe it is finally officially Fall and that it is almost October. Where does the time go?!

It’s just about that time of year: bootie season! I love booties because they are the gateway to fall & winter! Once it’s time to throw on your booties, it means the cooler temps are coming. It may not be super cool yet, but that should not stop you from pulling out your booties. I also love pairing mine with shorts and a cozy cardigan during this time of year. September is finally here, and I’m crossing my fingers that scarf weather will be here soon! Regardless, I pulled out my favorite light-weight scarf and styled it 5 ways for Fall. You can grab any oblong scarf and give these looks a try for yourself! I won’t lie, style number 4 made me feel very “Thelma & Louise”.

I was originally planning a great post all about fun donut clothing items and accessories, but I just can’t bring myself to do it after all that has happened in my great state. I still have linked a few of the fun items above, but I figured this post would be a good one to share some relief efforts for the aftermath of the hurricane. Why? Well…because donuts make everyone happy, and I think everyone could use a smile right now. Continue reading “Donut Worry! Donate to Help the Animals Affected by Hurricane Harvey”
In a few days it will be September! Although September 1st is not the technical beginning of fall, I still put out my fall decor. I am extra excited for fall this year because Mike and I recently moved into a new home, which means so many new decorating opportunities. Our home has much more space for pumpkins, candles, fall leaves and pine cones! Continue reading “Fall Florals”
It’s official, my kiddo’s have started school which means I am full-on back to work! No more just setting up my classroom and attending meetings. It is go-time. This time of year is always absolutely crazy, but special at the same time. I love getting to meet my new little’s and get to know all of their personalities. Continue reading “Ruffled in Stripes”

Every girl needs a great pair of black jeans in their wardrobe. Black jeans are one of those staple items that can carry you all the way through fall and winter. I wear mine with almost anything, but most commonly paired with a simple white tee.

Tomorrow is the first day of my fourth year of teaching! I am so excited for a fresh start with a new bunch of kiddos. I’ve always been a huge fan of the first day of school, starting way back in elementary school. Something about a clean school, fresh paper and pencils and a blank slate. Continue reading “Fall Trend: High Lo Top”
With all of us teachers going back to work, I figured I’d share how I make sure to have the best work day. The majority of these “rituals” take place the night before, but they have worked wonders for me! There is nothing better than starting your day on a positive note.
