Engagement Photos on the Beach

On Monday, July 18th, Mike and I took our second round of engagement photos at Rockport, Texas. I am so very lucky to have a best friend who is an amazing photographer (and took our first set of engagement photos at the Dallas Arboretum), but obviously she will be standing at the altar with me as one of my bridesmaids. That led me to do research on wedding photographers around the Port Aransas area (where we are getting married). We found Crystal Rios’s website, did some research and decided to hire her. She has a package that also includes engagement photos, leading us to this photo shoot!

I have always wanted a beach wedding, and these photos make me even more excited for the big day next June! Our photographer had us meet on a beach in Rockport at 6:30 AM so that we could catch the sunrise. We were already in the Rockport and Port Aransas area for a couple days to meet with the wedding planner and caterer.

I wanted to look “beachy” for this shoot, but also represent my own style. I found this amazing turquoise/blue coral design dress at Old Navy. Perfect for a beach photo shoot! I decided to wear the tulle skirt over the dress for most of the photos. It made the photos more representative of my personality, and also added more of a “bridal” touch!

FYI, my hair was a complete mess the entire shoot! I had curled it, but did not think about the wind and humidity. I still love these photos, mess and all!!
